A new online venture plans to become “the Booking.com of the cruise industry”, claiming a unique position in the sector.
Supercruises, which says it is the UK’s first online-only cruise booking platform, has launched after two years of development and will initially target this market. The brand is registered in London and has Abta membership, but its parent company is Cyprus-based shipping specialist Arista Group.
The website features 14 cruise lines, including MSC Cruises and P&O Cruises. Its inventory includes 11,000 packages in 30 global regions covering 1,000 ports.
Alexander Panagopulos, Supercruises chairman and chief executive, told TTG: “We will offer the complete service, from decision-making to booking and even cancellation, fully online.”
Panagopulos declined to comment on how the site differs from others such as Cruise.co.uk, but said a Supercruises booking “takes just six steps”.
He said he planned to add river cruise lines shortly and wanted more ocean brands involved. “We want to be a one-stop shop.”
