Royal Caribbean International is to run a “mini season” of cruises from Southampton and Barcelona on its new ship Odyssey of the Seas in spring 2021.
The line is due to take delivery of Odyssey in March and is planning two sailings from Southampton and three cruises from Barcelona before repositioning to its summer 2021 base of Rome.
The mini season of itineraries will start on 2 April with two trips from Southampton: the first will be a three-night voyage to Bruges and Rotterdam, followed by a five-night cruise to Spain with calls in Vigo and Cartagena before arriving in Barcelona.
The three cruises from Barcelona will be four and five-night itineraries to Spain, France and Italy, rounding off with a four-night repositioning trip to Rome with calls at Nice, Marseille and Florence.
Odyssey will be Royal Caribbean’s fifth Quantum class ship and will have capacity for 4,200 passengers. It was originally due to be delivered in autumn 2020 before being put back to spring 2021.
After spending summer 2021 in the eastern Mediterranean, Odyssey will then sail across the Atlantic to begin cruises from Fort Lauderdale in Florida in November 2021.
