Princess Cruises will roll out its Princess Medallion wearable to guests aboard Regal Princess next February.
Regal will become the line’s second ship to feature wearable technology after it was debuted on Caribbean Princess earlier this year.
The medallion is around the same size as a 10 pence piece and, according to the line, is a completely seamless addition.
Guests won’t have to learn a vast array of buttons and nor will they have to charge their medallions.
Its main features include streamlining embarkation and disembarkation, keyless access to staterooms, and greater interaction with crew and other guests allowing for a more personalised service or experience.
The medallion’s OceanCompass feature provides interactive directions throughout the ship and allows guests to easily locate friends, family and children.
It also allows them to call up their itinerary in real-time, including additional events and activities, and take part in interactive games and challenges, including a ship-wide digital scavenger hunt.
Princess will launch its Princess Medallion oboard Regal Princess on February 17, 2019, during its Caribbean season.
Tony Roberts, vice-president Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said: “We’ve received excellent feedback from guests and crew members who have experienced the medallion on Caribbean Princess as we continue on our path to fleet-wide activation.
“The more personalised service we are now able to provide is benefiting guests from the moment they step foot onboard. The medallion enhances so much of what we offer, from speedy embarkation, to staying in touch with friends and family, to finding your way across the ship, to ordering drinks.”
