Ryanair will next summer offer 44 destinations from Manchester after revealing five new routes and a 13% capacity expansion at the airport.

Daily flights to Berlin, Hamburg and Nuremburg are introduced, with four a week to Oslo Torp and three a week to Wroclaw. In addition, Alicante increases to 16 a week and Palma to 15. The airline claims the increase will bring it another 300,000 passengers, making 4.5 million from the airport.

The airport’s chief executive Ken O’Toole said: “It is pleasing to see Ryanair expanding its summer schedule from Manchester airport, meaning there will now be year-round direct services to leading European cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Oslo.”

Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said: “Customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for summer 2017. As our recent guidance confirmed, Ryanair expects average fares to fall by between 10% to 12% in the six months to March 2017.”
