Sun Resorts has appointed Alexandre Hulen its new vice-president sales and marketing.
The Mauritius-based hotel, leisure and real estate provider, specialising in the Indian Ocean, said Hulen would bring vital experience and exterior in the hospitality industry.
Hulen, 42, started his career in the Concorde Hotels and Resorts group in 1998.
He has experience working with prestigious hotel groups such as the Eden Collection and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
The Frenchman also later oversaw sales and marketing at Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove and Barbarons in the Seychelles, and Anantara Resort and Spa Maldies and Naladhu.
In 2010, he became cluster director sales and marketing for Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts in the Maldives before a stint as director sales and marketing for the Regent Group in Bali.
Most recently, he was director sales and marketing for One and Only Royal Mirage in Dubai.
David Anderson, chief executive of Sun Resorts’ parent Sun Limited, said: "We are very pleased that Alexandre is joining us to support the expansion of Sun Resorts in the international level.
“This nomination salutes his career and his success in developing the hotels he represented. His leadership and extensive experience in the hospitality industry will be vital qualities for Sun Resorts.”
Hulen said he was delighted to join Sun Resorts where his sales and marketing role will extend across the operator’s four Mauritius hotels - La Pirogue, Sugar Beach, Long Beach and Ambre.
He will also be responsible for Sun leisure island the Ile aux Cerfs and its eco-friendly Bubble Lodges.
