Royal Caribbean officially opened the first of its proposed collection of private islands, the $250 million Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, in May this year.
CocoCay features what Royal claims to be the tallest waterslide in North America, Daredevil’s Tower, a “helium balloon” capable of hovering 450 feet above the island, and the Bahamas’ first overwater cabanas.
Other boasts, says Royal, include the Caribbean’s largest wave pool, its largest freshwater pool, Oasis Lagoon, and a 1,600-foot zip-line traversing the island.
