Currently all park entrances and roads, as well as the Yellowstone back country, are closed due to "extremely" hazardous conditions.
Operators and agents with client trips scheduled in the coming weeks have been advised to check for updates and stay informed.
Lisa Cooper, travel trade director for the Great American West region, said it is likely the northern part of the park will be closed "for some time", according to the National Park Service.
"The park attracts a great many UK and Irish visitors in summer and autumn, so it’s vital the trade stay up to date to be able to provide best advice for clients travelling in the area," she added.
There will be no inbound visitor traffic at any of the five entrances into the park, including visitors with lodging and camping reservations, until conditions improve and park infrastructure is evaluated.
Initial aerial assessments conducted last week showed "major damage" to multiple sections of road in the northern and north-eastern entrances, which will take "substantial time and effort" to reconstruct.
The National Park Service said the park’s southern loop appears to be less impacted than the northern roads and teams are assessing damage to determine when opening of the southern loop is feasible.
With the northern loop unavailable for visitors, it is possible some form of temporary timed entry reservation system may be introduced to help manage visitor numbers and reduce impacts on park infrastructure. This may in turn extend into 2023 while reconstruction work continues.
