The Travel Network Group (TTNG) is planning a “second wave” of agent training days later this year with the first of the group’s new Training Services Academy courses nearly sold out.
The academy was announced at TTNG’s conference in Budapest last month, offering three tiers of training tailored for members’ new recruits, existing agents and senior management teams.
New agents will receive training on sales techniques, customer service and working with the trade press, and will have opportunities to experience a live retail environment.
Agent refresher training for established staff will focus on “re-energising” teams, covering product, systems, customer service, marketing and influencing sales outcomes.
Senior management training, meanwhile, will recap key teachings on cash flow, management information, investment, HR, compliance and public relations.
Lisa Henning, TTNG chief operating officer, said: “We knew our new training proposition would be popular with members, but we have been blown away by the speed in which they have been taken up. All places for senior management training and new recruit training are now full and only a few places remain for the refresher training.
“The idea behind the Training Services Academy came from feedback from members asking for support with training their staff as they simply don’t have the time and, in some cases, the finances to fund it. We are always looking at ways in which we can further add value to our members and we believe this is one of our best initiatives to date.
“Over the coming weeks we will be training over 50 agents and we are already planning to roll out a second wave of training days later in the year.”
