It comes after parent Truly Travel had its TTA membership terminated on Friday (29 October) by The Travel Network Group, which incorporates the TTA.
A TTA spokesperson said: “All Truly Travel, trading as Teletext Holidays, package holidays have been re-contracted with TTA Travel, the fulfilment travel company for Travel Trust Association.
“This means that all these bookings remain in place and continue to be financially protected through the Atol scheme and the trust account model operated by Travel Trust Association.
"All customers have been written to and they do not need to action anything. Payments for balances will be collected by TTA Travel and TTA Travel will make the payment to the relevant suppliers.”
The spokesperson added Alpharooms accommodation bookings were being refunded by the TTA.
“TTA Travel has a claims process in place for all customers with accommodation-only bookings – they need to submit details of their booking with Alpha Holidays, including proof of payment for both the deposit and the balance.
“We anticipate that once the claims are confirmed, refunds will take up to 12 weeks.”
The TTA said customers in resort should not be affected and upcoming bookings “remain in place” as these had been re-contracted with TTA.
Truly Travel was the subject of an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority, which began legal action after the operator allegedly failed to provide refunds to package customers within 14 days during the pandemic. Truly told TTG last month it had repaid £10.8 million but had £1.2 million outstanding.
A CMA spokesperson said: “We are monitoring the situation and are seeking further clarification. While these reports will concern people awaiting refunds, we will continue to take all possible action to get people the money they are owed.”
The TTA spokesperson added: ”All costumers with bookings that have been cancelled due to Covid, who are due to receive a refund from Truly Travel are now required to submit a claims form, as part of the process overseen by Travel Trust Association.”
The CAA said the issue was being dealt with by the TTA “because of the way their franchise agreement is set up”.
