The majority of attendees at TTG’s latest debate said they can no longer trust the Foreign Office (FCO) on travel advice.
More than 200 people attended TTG’s debate on the matter this morning (Thursday), with heated debate taking place over the Q&A.
TTG editor Sophie Griffiths was joined by Susan Deer, director of industry relations, Abta; Guy Anker, deputy editor, Moneysavingexpert.com; and Jo Kolatsis, director, Themis Advisory.
The FCO was invited to take part in the discussion but was unable to attend.
TTG hosted a poll during the debate asking “Can we still trust the FCO on travel advice?”, which attracted 111 responses.
A majority (71%) responded “No – the haphazard advice isn’t currently fit for purpose and doesn’t always match up with DfT”.
Meanwhile 28% said “Yes – the FCO is just trying to play its role in protecting the UK public from Covid-19”.
