Tui Group’s chief has confirmed it is making contingency plans for a hard Brexit.
During a UK media call for the announcement of the group’s Q3 results, the travel company’s chief executive Fritz Joussen was asked to elaborate on comments he reportedly made on a call with German media, that Tui was “preparing for the worst case scenario of a hard Brexit”.
Joussen refused to give specific examples of the preparations, but said: “When you don’t know what will happen then you prepare for everything.
“It’s very unlikely that this will happen so most likely we will see a grace period.
“The list [of preparations] is long – we are a global company.
“People, customers, everything is involved when you’re an international travel company. We’ve always been preparing for a worst case scenario.”
