Flights to Tunisia have resumed from Leeds Bradford airport after a four-year hiatus.
Weekly Nouvelair flights to Enfidha, operated on behalf of Thomas Cook, took off on Wednesday (22 May).
The route will operate until 24 September.
Leeds Bradford last served Tunisia in 2015, when Tui flew to Enfidha.
Tui pulled its flights though following the Sousse terror attack in June 2015 when 30 British Tui holidaymakers were gunned down on the beach.
The country’s resurgence, though, was highlighted in Cook’s 2019 Holiday Report, with the operator reporting Tunisia had risen from 10th to seventh in its list of most popular summer destinations.
It was the operator’s third most popular destination in 2014, the year before the Sousse attack.
John Cunliffe, Leeds Bradford aviation and commercial director, said he was delighted to see people heading back to Tunisia.
"It’s fantastic to see Enfidha as a destination from Leeds Bradford airport,” he said “Tunisia is an increasingly popular destination and one we feel will be very popular with the people of Yorkshire.
"We look forward to welcoming Nouvelair to Leeds Bradford Airport on a weekly basis throughout the summer.”
Cook is offering 25 resorts from Enfidha and excursions exploring Tunisia’s Roman heritage.
