The Tunisian National Tourist Office (TNTO) in the UK confirmed the change on Thursday (14 October). The new rules will come into effect on Saturday (16 October).
Children under the age of 12 are also exempt from the PCR test requirement. Fully vaccinated travellers must have received their second dose, or completed their full course of a recognised Covid-19 vaccination, at least 14 days prior to their date of travel.
All visitors will be required to complete, print, sign and present a copy of a Tunisia locator e-form.
Those who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will have to present evidence of a negative PCR test for Covid-19 taken up to 72 hours prior to departure, and then self-isolate for seven days in a designated facility on arrival. They will also be required to test negative on the seventh day of their isolation.
However, non-resident travellers with evidence of a package booking – charter or scheduled flight, transfer and hotel accommodation – as part of an organised and/or supervised tour will be exempt from having to isolate so long as they comply with the country’s anti-Covid-19 tourism health protocol.
Tunisia was among a number of countries removed from the UK’s red list earlier this month, while the Foreign Office has removed its advise advising against all but essential travel to Tunisia on Covid-19 grounds.
