Visitors to Turkey will have to apply for their mandatory e-visas in advance, starting next week.
From October 29, self-service e-visa kiosks and Wi-Fi areas at Turkish airports will no longer be available.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) updated its Turkey travel advice to reflect the changes on Tuesday (October 23).
Currently, visitors to Turkey can apply for a $20 (£15) e-visa upon arrival using one of the arrival kiosks.
Turkish e-visas are valid for up to a maximum of 90 days across multiple stays during a 180-day period from the date of issue.
Travellers can apply for their e-visa in advance from Turkey’s official e-visa portal, evisa.gov.tr.
Said the FCO: “From October 29, 2018, self service e-visa kiosks and Wi-Fi areas where visitors can apply for an e-Visa on arrival will no longer be available in Turkish airports; you must apply for your e-visa before you travel.”
