Taking place on Thursday 7 July, as part of TTG Fairer Travel Week in association with the Spanish Tourist Office, the Sustainability Forum will offer practical advice and inspiring case studies to help travel businesses take the next steps on their sustainability journey.
After a morning of presentations and panel discussions, the afternoon agenda features four different workshops, with the opportunity for each delegate to attend two of their choice.
Explore Worldwide’s sustainability specialist Hannah Methven will share what she learnt overseeing Explore’s own carbon-labelling project this year, and lead a discussion on the practicalities, challenges and opportunities involved in taking this approach.
TTG Media’s sustainability advisers TerraVerde, who offer consultancy to travel businesses and organisations looking to measure and reduce their carbon footprint, will lead a workshop on the practicalities of signing the Glasgow Declaration and setting achievable reduction targets.
In another workshop, Siren Communications’ Lorraine Bryant and Stacey Stockwell will share advice on communicating with your customers about sustainability successfully while avoiding “greenwashing”.
And in a final workshop, Holly Tuppen, communications manager of The Long Run, will demonstrate how the organisation’s new screening tool can help travel agents and tour operators put conservation, community, culture and commerce at the centre of their own decision-making, and choose more sustainable suppliers.
Delegates will be invited to make their workshop selections by close of play on Monday 4 July.
The Sustainability Forum, which is in partnership with PwC and Siren Communications, is a day-long conference with other sessions covering B Corp-certification, signing the Glasgow Declaration, building sustainable supply chains and more.
Tickets cost £49+VAT, or buy a joint ticket to also attend the Fairer Travel Diversity Forum on Friday 8 July for £79+VAT.
