Pandaw Cruises has introduced new three and four-night cruises on India's Hooghly Ganges River, responding to growing demand for flexible, tailor-made holidays that can be easily incorporated into wider India itineraries.
Beginning and ending in Kolkata, the new sailings are designed for travellers who may not have time for a week-long expedition and can be combined with destinations like Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan, Darjeeling, Assam and Kerala. The launch reflects the growing popularity of multi-centre travel, as visitors seek to experience more of India within a single trip.
For centuries, the Hooghly Ganges River shaped Bengal's history, linking royal capitals and trading ports. Today, guests can explore terracotta temples, traditional brass workshops, colonial towns, and the former capital of Murshidabad while experiencing a side of India rarely seen on conventional tours.
Guests can choose between a three-night upstream or four-night downstream voyage, offering an ideal introduction to Pandaw's small-ship style of river cruising.
"Travellers are increasingly treating India as a collection of regions rather than a single destination," said Yves Van Kerrebroeck, Commercial Director at Pandaw Cruises. "These shorter itineraries give DMCs a flexible product that adds a different dimension to a wider India holiday while making river cruising more accessible."
Developed in response to conversations with destination management company partners, the new departures make it easier to introduce guests to river cruising without the commitment of a longer expedition. They also provide an entry point to Pandaw's longer voyages on the Hooghly Ganges, Brahmaputra, Mekong, and Irrawaddy.
