The luxury hotel brand invited five agents to the Peloponnese last month to experience the Olympia Riviera Resort & Aqua Park, which is home to four Grecotel hotels – Mandola Rosa, Grecotel La Riviera, Grecotel LUXME Oasis and Grecotel Ilia Palms.
“We hosted the trip to showcase the destination and how easy it was for luxury clients to fly into Zante and get the speedboat across to the Peloponnese,” Liz Shaw, UK sales manager at Grecotel, told TTG.
Held from 7th June to June 10th, the tour had the agents fly into Zakynthos, before taking a boat transfer to the port town of Kyllini. From here, it was just a 10-minute drive to Mandola Rosa, the most exclusive and luxurious hotel in the Olympia Riviera Resort & Aqua Park.
Over the course of the next three days, the agents enjoyed everything the peninsula had to offer – including a local winery in Vartholomio, a culinary class at a botanic garden and a spa afternoon.
“While I was familiar with Grecotel as a brand, I wasn’t expecting the level of details and service at Mandola Rosa,” Jack Stean, personal travel manager at Winged Boots, told TTG. “It blew me away. For a multigenerational family, or even just a UHNW family wanting a villa with privacy it ticked all the boxes.”
This sentiment was echoed by Annabel Jefferson, who said Mandola Rosa – which offers complimentary access to the Olympia Water Park – is ideal for VIP clients with children.
“There are so many brilliant and very private villa options at Mandola, and having the activities for the kids to enjoy – such as the waterpark, horse riding, paint balling, kids’ club, is perfect.”
The agents were also impressed by the “far flung” nature of the destination. The Peloponnese is one of the least visited Greek destinations due to reduced flight options – but that also makes it one of the most exclusive.
“The destination itself is far from the airport (Kalamata) which is the only one serviced by UK operators, I believe,” said Annabel. “However, I really enjoyed our speedboat transfer from Zakynthos and this is what I would encourage clients to do. There is lots to see nearby but it feels sort of far flung and remote, which is a good thing. It's an area I know very little about, actually, but I really liked how green it is, and the beach is beautiful.”
Jack agrees: “My previous knowledge on the Western Peloponnese region of Greece was limited,” Jack Stean said. “So this trip fully opened my eyes to this not so well known part.”
