Wynn Al Marjan Island has announced a landmark partnership with Punchdrunk, the internationally acclaimed immersive theatre company behind Sleep No More, to create the company's first production in the MENA region. Debuting with the opening of Wynn Al Marjan Island in 2027, the exclusive production marks a new chapter for live entertainment in the Middle East.
Created exclusively for Wynn, the original show will be conceived and directed by Punchdrunk Founder and Artistic Director Felix Barrett MBE in collaboration with Wynn Resorts CEO Craig S. Billings. Inspired by the classic Las Vegas revue, it combines world-class song, dance and immersive storytelling, with guests choosing either a traditional seated performance or a free-roaming backstage journey. Each offers a different perspective on the same story.
The purpose-built theatre blends Art Deco design with contemporary luxury, drawing on Hollywood's golden age and 1970s Las Vegas glamour. Every space, from the lobby to the auditorium, has been designed as part of the immersive experience.
Founded in 2000, Punchdrunk has transformed contemporary theatre with immersive productions that allow audiences to explore meticulously created worlds. Its acclaimed works include The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable and Sleep No More, which ran for 14 years in New York and continues internationally.
The partnership builds on Wynn Resorts' reputation for world-class entertainment, including collaborations with Cirque du Soleil and Le Rêve. Felix Barrett MBE said the production would deliver "a spectacular theatrical experience" for audiences seeking both world-class entertainment and something unexpected. Craig S. Billings said the collaboration would create "something entirely original" that reflects Wynn's commitment to exceptional artistry and guest experiences.
