The initiatives were announced at the consortium’s conference in Bucharest, Romania, at the weekend.
Speaker and coach Ryan Parke told delegates about his five-year research project into male suicide rates, therapies, testosterone and strategies to cope with depression.
His address, The Myth That Kills Men, argues the current approach to male mental health is not succeeding in reducing rates of depression in men.
Webinars and training modules recorded by Parke can be accessed by TTNG members’ staff, colleagues and other men in their lives via the consortium’s hub.
Speaking to TTG after the session, TTNG chief executive Gary Lewis said: “We go where our members are. Our number one priority is our members.
“We’ve spent the last 18 months helping members recruit and 183 members’ staff have been through our new-to-travel recruitment programme. Now we’re looking to give them a whole new health package with information around the menopause, perimenopause and male mental health.”
TTNG retail director Julie Pinkney added: “We believe this topic needs to have the same attention as menopause. If women are being heard then it’s important that men are too."
