More than 100 Unite union members employed at Stansted by ABM had been due to walk out over 17-20 April in a dispute over pay.
However, the action was postponed late on Thursday to allow the workers – who look after passengers with assistance needs – to vote on a new pay offer.
It follows negotiations between ABM, Unite and mediator Acas.
Unite regional officer Steve Edwards said: “After a new offer has been put forward to members, we have decided to stop strike action to allow them to have their say.”
An ABM spokesperson said: "We are pleased that strike action has been suspended, and while further conversations take place, focus will remain on delivering outstanding service for the thousands of passengers who rely on our assisted travel service at Stansted airport."
