TTG’s analysis of more than 40 luxury travel suppliers reveals a significant uptick in investment in trade engagement in 2024.
The TTG Luxury Travel Awards Insight Report 2025, the first of its kind, drew upon data shared by 42 trade-facing luxury suppliers who were finalists in tour operator, cruise, and hotel categories.
Nearly 70% of shortlisted suppliers confirmed they increased total spend for trade engagement, training and marketing in the 12 months to August 2024, with almost half investing at least 10% more, and more than a quarter investing at least 20% more.
The report, available exclusively to companies and individuals who entered the awards and to awards sponsors, also highlights trends in trade engagement, including training provision for agents in the luxury sector.
Luxury cruise lines are far more likely to offer online training programmes to agent partners than luxury tour operators, according to the report, with 17 out of 18 cruise lines across our premium, ultra-luxury and expedition categories all having an online course. Only three out of 14 tour operator finalists, meanwhile, are currently offering a programme.
Encouragingly for agents, four in 10 suppliers reported they increased the proportion of sales through the trade last year.
To receive the full report next year, be sure to enter one of our supplier or individual travel agent categories in the TTG Luxury Travel Awards 2026 when the programme launches later this year.
