The European vice president of AirFastTickets has insisted the company will enter “a brighter period in the weeks and months to come”, despite its UK office entering into administration last week.
In a statement to TTG, Ron Yeatman also remained adamant the UK closure would not affect the company’s offices elsewhere.
“The AirFastTickets UK office was unfortunately placed into administration, the details of which are both ongoing and confidential,” he said.
“This will not affect our other offices throughout the US and Europe, and we continue to operate and trade in all other countries. In spite of this, we remain confident that AirFastTickets will enter a brighter period in the weeks and months to come.”
He added that “every booking originating from the UK is still valid”, and that customers should contact the customer services team on info@airfasttickets.com.”
TTG revealed yesterday that the UK office of AirFastTickets was shut down by administrators last week following a hearing at the High Court.
The accounts for AirFastTickets Limited were due to be filed at Companies House on September 30 2014, however Companies House confirmed they were overdue.
It added that it would be “actively writing to this company to chase for overdue accounts”.
Iata said in June that it had suspended the OTA from trading from its UK and German offices as well as in Greece, after it emerged that AirFastTickets owed a total of €45 million, with the amount at risk in the UK calculated at around €13.9 million.
