Travellers have been told to arrive two hours earlier due to “additional security” and bag checks, according to Sky News Australia.
It comes after police swooped on several Sydney addresses on Saturday and arrested four men over a conspiracy to bring down a plane using an improvised device.
Andrew Colvin, federal police commissioner said on Sunday: “What people can expect to see is an increased police and security agency presence.
“You can expect longer delays to make sure that more screening is being done on baggage - both hold luggage as well as hand luggage.”
Colvin insisted there was no reason to believe the integrity of airport security had been compromised during the plot.
Australia raised its terror threat level to “probable” in 2014.
