Beachcomber Tours has outlined the best contact methods for its agent partners following new travel restrictions in Mauritius.
The destination has extended restrictions to British nationals and anyone who has travelled to, or transited through, the UK in the past 14 days to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
The new rules will come into force at midnight on Monday (16 March) local time (8pm GMT) and will last for an initial period of 14 days.
In response, Beachcomber, which operates eight properties on the island, has reached out to agents to explain how best to get in touch regarding bookings.
“Our first priority is to stop those due to travel today from leaving the UK and then to deal with those bookings affected by the closure dates. We are dealing with all bookings in date-of-departure order,” the operator said.
“Please could we politely request that your agents don’t call our reservations team at this time and rest assured that if you have clients affected they will be contacted very soon. For clients currently in-resort, we are taking advice from the island and will update you as soon as we have news on the implications for these clients.
“If any agents do require a new quote for clients please contact your regional sales manager below and we will be happy to do this for you while our colleagues in reservations deal with more pressing travel issues.
“If agents have an urgent and important question relating to clients travelling with us, please could we politely request them to use the communication methods below to reach us quickly.
“Please don’t post on Facebook or use messenger if they need a quick answer, because it relies on us being logged into Facebook/messenger at all times. We want to help everyone as quickly as possible but are concerned about missing important messages sent through multiple and diverse channels.
“Emailing the sales team is the fastest way to get the answer to your question.”
