Luxury operator Carrier has expanded its portfolio of Caribbean destinations as part of a revamp of its brochures for 2018.
The company has redesigned four brochures - Caribbean, Bermuda & Mexico; Africa; Indian Ocean & Arabia; and Luxury Ski & Snow – following the arrival of new managing director Mark Duguid, who joined Carrier from sister operator Kuoni in April.
Another three brochures will launch in November, which will complete Carrier’s 2018/19 programme.
Carrier has added two new Caribbean destinations for 2018: the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, which is currently recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Maria.
St Regis Bahia Beach Resort and Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, are both featured in Puerto Rico, while properties in the Dominican Republic include Eden Roc at Cap Cana and Amanera.
Jenny Basham, Carrier’s Caribbean, Bermuda & Mexico product manager, added: “Our thoughts are with all our friends and partners affected by the recent hurricanes. Tourism remains the lifeblood of the Caribbean, so we are keen to support Puerto Rico as best we can as the island recovers, and look forward to welcoming our clients to the island once it’s ready to make its comeback.”
The operator is also featuring new hotels in other parts of the Caribbean, such as Hodges Bay Resort & Spa by Elegant Hotels in Antigua and Silversands in Grenada, as well as Chable Resort & Spa on Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula.
Elsewhere, Carrier is introducing the Swiss destination of Gstaad, which has long been a favourite of Europe’s royals and celebrities. The operator is featuring the Alpina Gstaad, which has two Michelin-starred restaurants and a Six Senses Spa.
New properties in the Middle East include The Ritz-Carlton, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert and the Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah in the emirate of Ajman. In Africa, King Lewanika Lodge in Zambia has been introduced alongside the new Bisate Lodge in Rwanda.
Carrier, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2017, held a workshop training event for agents at its offices in Cheadle to launch the brochures with key suppliers such as Amilla Fushi, Maldives and Coral Reef Club and The Sandpiper in Barbados, along with a launch party at Didsbury House Hotel.
The operator will also host its annual agent awards event at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane in November.
