British travellers are increasingly choosing longer package holidays representing better value for money and are willing to save on their flight booking to allow more money for in-destination spending.
Those were some of the findings of travel and experience deals publisher Travelzoo’s 2019 Travel Trends report, which surveyed more than 1,600 UK travellers.
It found holidaymakers were seeking discounts to make their money go further, while 90% were planning a trip abroad of five or more nights this year – prioritising a longer trip over a short breaks or staycation.
More than half the holidaymakers surveyed said they were likely to book an all-inclusive package in the next few years, particularly those with children.
Half of those quizzed said they would be willing to try to save money by travelling at inconvenient times or forgo extras such as in-flight meals when not included, while nearly 75% would look to save money on their baggage allowance.
