Following the collapse of Thomas Cook, former Cook national sales manager Kevin Gaddes and trade partnership manager Katrina Latimer wrote to agents – via TTG – to thank them for their support over the years. This was their message to the trade:
Dear trade partners,
We would like to say a huge thank you for the support we have received over the past week.
Your messages have kept us positive and smiling, even though your personal business will have suffered greatly.
It’s been a difficult and challenging few years at Thomas Cook, but despite many profit warnings and other issues, support and enthusiasm never fell away from our trade partners.
Over the years, there have been some tough decisions we’ve had to relay to our trade partners, including the closure of the Viewdata system, the lack of brochures and the very difficult loss of price parity.
Our personal opinions aside on these topics, we always tried to remain positive and support our partners wherever we could.
We have both enjoyed every minute of supporting our trade partners with educationals around the world, including Jamaica, Mexico, Turkey, Cuba, Tenerife, Majorca, Croatia and Gran Canaria, to name but a few.
We’ve headlined and hosted many conferences and created lots of fun campaigns.
You have all remained hugely professional and loyal, not only to the brand but to us both.
We feel the need to write this small note, as we were the people that held these close relationships with you.
Until the next time,
Kev and Katrina x
