Enable already offers adapted taxi transfers between its destination airports and holiday accommodation, but through a new partnership with driving companion service, Driving Miss Daisy, the operator can now provide assistance from a customer’s home address to any one of four UK airports.
The service will initially be offered on holidays departing from Glasgow, Bristol, Southampton and Bournemouth, with Enable looking to roll out the option further across the UK next year.
Lynne Kirby, Enable Holidays managing director, said: “We are constantly looking at ways to enhance our customers’ holiday experiences, and this is a great way of taking the hard work and hassle out of getting to the airport.
“Driving Miss Daisy are equally committed to the needs of disabled travellers and that makes them the perfect fit for us.’’
John Overdijking, regional sales and key account director at Driving Miss Daisy, added: “We specialise in enabling people to live their life to the full irrespective of disability or personal challenges. That includes experiencing amazing holidays, meeting new people and creating lasting memories through travel.
“We are delighted to partner with Enable Holidays to allow clients to start and end their holiday with our safe and caring driving and companionship service. It means the holiday literally starts and ends in their living room with our unique home-to-holiday taxi service.”
