The boss of Expedia has thrown the OTA giant’s weight behind a renewed commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives across the travel sector.
Chief executive Mark Okerstrom has set up a new travel industry group after signing the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge last month, alongside 750 other executives.
The pledge commits to: creating and sharing strategic inclusion and diversity plans with boards of directors; sharing best (and worst) practices; implementing and expanding unconscious bias training; and ensuring workplaces are prepared to have “sometimes difficult” conversations about diversity and inclusion.
