The government is reportedly set to announce the creation of a new "travel taskforce".
The Telegraph reports the move could formalise a plan to reduce the government’s current 14-day quarantine on arrival requirement through testing.
The taskforce is expected to comprise representatives from both the Department for Transport and Department for Health.
However, The Telegraph further reports that suggestions by chief secretary to the Treasury Stephen Barclay and transport secretary Grant Shapps earlier this week that the government was preparing to announce plans to reduce the return quarantine requirement through additional testing are unlikely to come to fruition until November.
A Department for Transport spokesperson told TTG at lunchtime on Wednesday (7 October) an announcement was "imminent".
