Moves this week include a promotion for Intrepid Travel’s UK lead Hazel McGuire, who will take up a new global chief marketing officer post next month, although she will remain UK-based. A search for a new successor is under way.
Elsewhere, there’s a return for a highly familiar face to many in travel as Phil Gardner takes up a new role with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, almost a year after he left Ambassador Cruise Line. Gardner is well known from his spells with Tui, First Choice and Thomas Cook.
Meanwhile, former Abercrombie & Kent head of agency sales, Richard Hey, has struck out on his own by setting up a representation firm, and is already working with a couple of high-profile names.
There has also been a number of leadership changes at Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, while the Malaysian tourism board has appointed a new lead in London.
So here are the latest major travel trade hires, promotions and job moves over the past few weeks (Wednesday 26 February to Wednesday 5 March).
