Students taking a lead in the responsible travel movement will be honoured by the ITT and Intrepid Group this summer.
The ITT has teamed up with Intrepid to launch a new Responsible Tourism Award, which will be presented at its annual summer party.
It will recognise students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the subject.
The new category comes in addition to the ITT’s regular summer awards, which also include ITT Student of the Year and ITT Apprenticeship of the Year.
It also coincides with Intrepid’s 30th anniversary.
Claire Steiner, chair of ITT’s education and training committee, said: “Responsible Tourism is at the heart of everything we do as a sector, and this new award will enable us to acknowledge the great work that education is doing to inform students of all ages.”
James Thornton, Intrepid Group chief executive, added: “Intrepid has been a leader in sustainable tourism since its inception 30 years ago. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate the achievements of students of any age making their mark in this hugely important field.”
Entries for the new award must be emailed to training@itt.co.uk no later than April 30. The award will be presented at the ITT’s summer party on July 18.
