Agents can win one of the places on the trip, which will see guests stay at a five-star property in Montego Bay and experience the famous strip by night, as well as visiting Negril or Ocho Rios.
Elizabeth Fox, Jamaica Tourist Board’s UK and Northern Europe regional director, said: “Our message continues to be that Jamaica remains open for business and the island is safer than ever.
“We are also pleased to see there has been a relaxation of the Foreign Office’s advice for travel to the parish of St James.”
A state of emergency was declared on January 19, allowing the military to support the police in security operations, in response to violence among locals.
“Unfortunately, the words ‘state of emergency’ have created a slight panic, but this is far removed from the reality of the situation,” continued Fox. “We can’t wait for one lucky travel agent to experience the renowned Jamaican hospitality and spread the love.”
JTB is planning to ramp up the number of fam trips this year, from 6 to 10, focusing on romance, health, new product, boutique and luxury.
To be in with a chance of winning, agents need to answer the question “What is the airport code for Montego Bay?” and email the answer, along with their agency details, to
mail@visitjamaica.com by March 5.
- The fam trip will run from March 23-28
