Jet2 has added more than 14,000 return seats to the Canary Islands next year from Belfast and Edinburgh, citing increased demand for winter sun and Easter getaways from customers in the two cities.
In total, Jet2 will operate 37 additional return flights from Belfast International airport and Edinburgh airport to Lanzarote and Tenerife early next year.
At Belfast, Jet2 will add an extra weekly flight on Tuesdays to Lanzarote from 11 February through 21 April, increasing its service to three-times weekly. It will also add an extra Monday flight to Tenerife from 13 January through 20 April, increasing its service to four-times weekly.
From Edinburgh, Jet2 will operate an additional Monday flight to Lanzarote from 10 February to 20 April, boosting the service to four-times weekly during this period.
Steve Heapy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays chief executive, said: “As the UK’s largest tour operator to the Canary Islands, we are delighted to have responded quickly to extra demand for flights and holidays to Lanzarote and Tenerife.
“The Canary Islands continue to be a firm favourite with holidaymakers from our nine UK bases, and we are totally committed to our Canaries programme, as seen through our continued growth.
“Holidaymakers now have even more choice and flexibility when it comes to winter sun and holidays outside of the main summer season, including during the February school holidays and Easter.”
