Destinations are being switched off at a moment’s notice, creating huge uncertainty in the market, while the government has still failed to provide any hint of sector specific support, leaving many companies in the UK travel industry teetering on a knife edge.
And yet – there is a glimmer of hope. As the #SaveTravel campaign has demonstrated, there is a lot of love and support for the travel industry – and people will want to travel again, once restrictions are lifted and the world has adapted to this new normal.
This latest TTG seminar on Thursday 13 August, sponsored by Virgin Voyages, examines how we can best support the sector, what the future holds for the UK travel industry and what more we can all do to #savetravel?
Sessions will include a presentation on setting the scene for a new travel industry; a closer look at the business travel sector and how business travel specialists are preparing for a new world; and a deeper dive into the cruise sector, examining what ocean cruise will look like in a post Covid world.
Meanwhile a panel of experts will also explore “low season travel” and discuss top tips on boosting bookings during the now all important shoulder seasons.
The afternoon will conclude with a look at just how the industry can #SaveTravel as a panel of senior industry figures discuss the enormous challenges facing the sector, and what can be done to win government support to help save it.
The full agenda and speakers will be announced on Monday (10 August)
