Nobu Hotels, which was founded by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper, plans to open a Nobu Hotel, restaurant and residences in Sao Paulo’s financial district in 2019 or 2020.

The company has not given details of how many hotel rooms will be included in the development but has confirmed there will be a rooftop bar and pool, fitness and health centre and event spaces.

Nobu Hotels, which only opened its first property in 2013 as part of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, is currently undergoing a period of major expansion.

It opened its first UK property, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch London, in July and has also unveiled hotels in Malibu and Ibiza this year.

Nobu Hotels is planning to open properties in Palo Alto, California, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia later this year. While 2018 will see the debut of hotels in Los Cabos, Chicago, Toronto, Barcelona and Marbella.
