Some companies are closely guarding details of their turn-of-year promotions, but TTG has rounded up those that have released specifics of their peaks campaigns.
This includes Thomas Cook UK and Ireland, which has revealed it is planning to “use the Force” to help drive its peaks period advertising campaign throughout the end of this year and next.
Marketing and e-commerce director Jamie Queen said the new campaign, entitled “Leave it to us. You’re on Holiday”, had been designed to highlight the indulgent side of a holiday with the operator.
The first national airing of the 30-second version of the advert will be in cinemas on December 17, prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
A 60-second version will then be aired on national television on December 18 during ITV1’s Text Santa while dedicated radio spots have also been booked.
Queen told TTG: “Holidays are about letting go, about being the person you want to be while away and treating yourself.
“Holiday companies haven’t traditionally celebrated this truth in their advertising. ‘Leave it to us. You’re on holiday’ looks to redress that balance.”

Thomson and First Choice’s marketing campaigns will go live on December 21 and 19 respectively, with the new First Choice branding rolled out across all channels last week. First Choice’s campaign will centre on its “Life’s too short to say no” strapline .
Meanwhile, from December 21, Thomson’s 2014 advert will return, before launching a new creative in the new year, with Miles the bear continuing his adventures in a 30-second advert focused on long-haul destinations.
