The operator has added 18 new eight-day options, with destinations ranging from Devon and Cornwall to the Isle of Wight, Wales and Scotland.

Holidays, starting May, lead in from £317pp and include three-star hotel accommodation, with all options pet-friendly, as well as English breakfast and evening meals.

Agents can, until 30 April, secure clients’ 2021 and 2022 holidays on a £1 deposit, with nothing to pay until six weeks prior to travel.

All holidays featured in the new self-drive range can be configured for five or seven days instead.

Ashley Dellow, Shearings’ head of retail sales, said: "The launch of these slightly longer breaks could not have been more-timely. Agents are telling me they’re having unprecedented demand for UK holidays this summer, with clients wanting their UK breaks to be longer as they’ve put overseas holidays on the back burner for now.

"The self-drive holidays are perfect for those wanting extra independence to do their own thing and more time to explore. Another popular reason to choose self-drive is to be able to take a dog along and all of the new longer holidays feature pet-friendly hotels."
