Singapore Airlines has announced a partnership with bed bank Hotelbeds to create a new dynamic packaging platform.
The new venture, Singapore Airlines Holidays, will leverage Hotelbeds’ systems to offer bundled flights and accommodation.
Packages will be made available progressively to Singapore customers in more than 20 source markets. The first packages will be introduced in Australia.
It is the first such agreement the bed bank has entered into with a full-service commercial airline. The platform will be rolled out in Europe following its launch in Asia.
Explaining the move, the two operators said in a statement: “This new collaboration enables [Singapore Airlines] to... utilise Hotelbeds Group’s proprietary dynamic packaging platform to enable customers to curate their own holiday packages, with real-time selection of flights from Singapore’s extensive network plus more than 170,000 hotels.
“More than 24,000 transfer routes and 18,000 activities such as theme parks and museums from Hotelbeds will be made available progressively.”
Customers will be able to book customisable packages online while earning KrisFlyer miles on the total value of the package.
Deals will initially be available from the Singapore website in Asia, before being rolled out across Europe, India and North America.
Hotelbeds will set up a base in Singapore to promote Singapore Airlines Holidays product, as well as provide customer, pricing and optimisation services.
Sam Turner, Hotelbeds’ wholesales sales and sourcing director, said the group was “looking forward to providing customers with unbeatable accommodation portfolio alongside a seamless booking experience”.
“We have spent a lot of time working with various teams at Singapore Airlines to understand how best to design the solution and operate the business,” Turner added.
Campbell Wilson, Singapore’s senior-vice president sales and marketing, added: “Leveraging on [Hotelbeds’] dynamic packaging platform, this provides our customers with the added option of combining our flights with land content of their choice through a package with the best value.
“With this collaboration, we hope to offer our customers a platform to purchase their next dream holiday, by combining SIA’s quality in-flight services with a curated list of hotels.”
