A group of hotels, villas and experiences in Sri Lanka are coming together to promote the destination to agents.
More than 30 properties and activity providers are launching a virtual online training programme for the trade over three weeks.
The group is being led by Jean-Marc Flambert, who represents several properties through his company Your Tourism Partner and is a former UK director of Sri Lanka Tourism.
“What binds us together is our commitment to tourism in Sri Lanka, to unique experiences, to exclusive experiences and to low density accommodation which is very popular in this Covid-19 period” said Flambert.
One-hour online presentations on Sri Lanka are set to take place on three consecutive Wednesdays on 21 October, 28 October and 4 November at 10am on each day. The sessions can be accessed through the Secrets of Ceylon website.
The events on the Zoom platform are being supported by the Sri Lanka High Commission in London and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau.
Eleanor Milner, director of Sri Lanka Collection, added: “The UK travel trade are extremely important to us. They have been superbly supportive over the recent years when Sri Lanka has been through so much.
“We are delighted to now have this opportunity to engage with more travel agents by offering these sessions.”
