TTG will host a special Agent Matters discussion on Friday (24 July) to mark and celebrate the UK’s first National Travel Agent Day.
Three top agents will join the panel on Friday – Peakes Travel Elite managing director Claire Moore; Henbury Travel owner Richard Slater; and TravelTime World director Jackie Steadman.
The trio will be discussing their careers in the retail travel sector, and reflecting on just what it is that makes the service of an independent agent so valuable to consumers.
They will also touch on some of the challenges the sector is facing as the UK emerges from the coronavirus crisis, and some of the lengths to which they have gone to assist clients.
National Travel Agent Day is being championed in the UK by Intrepid Travel, with similar events held in other markets such as the US and Australia.
The operator has pulled together a day-long programme which will include interviews with agents and a Q&A with customers, as well as some special video messages from a range of guests. In the afternoon, there will be quizzes, competitions and awards.
Intrepid is asking agents to share their stories of how they, and their colleagues, have gone "above and beyond" during the crisis; nominees will have the chance to win an Intrepid trip for two to Morocco. Entries should be sent to UKPGM@intrepidtravel.com.
TTG’s special Agent Matters will be broadcast at 11am on Friday via the TTG Facebook page, as well as on other social media channels – including Intrepid’s own Intrepid Loves Agents Facebook page.
