As more details are revealed about the brand new water theme park experience, Universal Orlando confirms three-park tickets go on sale ’soon’ for the international markets
Universal Orlando Resort has announced that very soon tickets will be on sale for the international market for Universal’s Volcano Bay, a brand new water theme park experience, which they can pre-book for June 1, 2017 and thereafter. The official opening date has still yet to be revealed.
Universal plans to introduce a new three-park Explorer ticket, which the trade will be able to sell.
Chief marketing officer Alice Norsworthy told IPW delegates in New Orleans today that Volcano Bay would be a game-changer in the theme park sector. “We’re redefining the experience, by eliminating hassles, such as not having to stand in long lines or wrestling with tubes.”
There will be 18 attractions in four themed areas. These will include a multi-directional wave pool with sandy beaches, a peaceful winding river, twisting multi-rider raft rides, speeding body slides that drop from the top of the volcano into the waters below – and a state-of-the-art marquee attraction that will be revealed at a later date.
Norsworthy added: “Volcano Bay will offer thrills, indulgence and rejuvenation.”
The water theme park is being designed by Universal Creative, the same team behind the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and other signature Universal experiences.
Volcano Bay will be located within the Universal Orlando Resort limits, adjacent to Cabana Bay Beach Resort. This hotel is adding another 400 rooms in 2017, and this summer Universal Orlando opens its fifth on-site hotel, Loews Sapphire Falls, with 1,000 rooms including 83 suites – and the largest pool in the Universal property portfolio.
