Virgin Atlantic has dressed one of its Boeing 747 aircraft in an incredible Star Wars-themed wrap showcasing Han Solo’s iconic Millennium Falcon spaceship.
The aircraft, known simply as The Falcon, took to the skies on Wednesday (25 September) flying holidaymakers to Orlando where they can experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort.
It comes as Virgin Holidays launches “The Ultimate Virgin Holidays Star Wars Experience” – a curated holiday to Walt Disney World Resort over 15-22 February giving Star Wars fans the chance to live out their own intergalactic adventure.
Virgin’s “wrap” used enough film to cover four tennis courts; it is 44 metres long end to end and took three weeks to print.
Dave Napper, Virgin Atlantic senior engineer, said: “It was a very exciting brief to be able to redesign our aircraft livery to represent something as iconic as the Millennium Falcon and it’s not something that you get to do every day.
“We have many Star Wars fans within the company who jumped at the chance to get involved in some way, and we cannot wait to see 'The Falcon' take flight.”
