Tropical cyclone Gita is due to pass to the south of Fiji’s main islands on February 13.

However, the FCO says an alert remains in force for the Lao Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, with “strong winds and heavy rain” expected.

Travellers are advised to monitor local media and radio broadcasts. Fiji’s cyclone season normally runs between November and April.
