Wizz Air has announced five new routes for summer 2020 at its Luton base, marking the start of what it describes as a "new era of sanitised travel".
Four-times-weekly flights to Faro in Portugal will get under way on 16 June, followed by another four new Greek island routes launching in early July.
These include Zakynthos, Heraklion, Corfu and Rhodes. A sixth new route, a four-times-weekly Marrakech service, will take off in late-October.
Wizz has promised all new Covid-19 hygiene measures to protect passengers and crew; these include mandatory wearing of face masks, as well as gloves for crew.
Sanitising hand wipes will be given to passengers upon boarding, while aircraft will be disinfected with antiviral solution overnight.
Magazines have been removed, and all onboard payments must be contactless. Wizz will also insist on new social distancing measures according to local health guidelines.
Owain Jones, Wizz AirUK managing director, said: "Although travel is currently restricted by government regulations, we are planning for the easing of restrictions as the situation improves and our customers are able to start travelling again.
"The Wizz team is excited that our network from London Luton will continue to grow to include many new summer and winter sun destinations, and our new sanitising protocols will give our customers the confidence that they can safely rely on Wizz Air to visit these new and exciting destinations.
"As always, our primary concern is the health, safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew, and our enhanced protective measures will ensure the most sanitary conditions possible."
