The trip followed elements of the TUI Tours Classical Oman itinerary and was designed to immerse independent agents in the authentic TUI Tours experience while showcasing Oman's diverse attractions including pristine beaches, dramatic mountains and golden deserts.
The group also experienced TUI’s Sun and Beach product in Oman, and their multi-centre offerings showcasing the breadth of choice in the country.
Dexter Argent-Burns, TUI Tours Product Manager said: “It was such an amazing opportunity to showcase beautiful Oman and make history with TUI Tours first ever independent agent fam trip.
"As we continue to grow our TUI Tours product, it’s more important than ever before that agents have the opportunity to get under the skin of the product and have the firsthand knowledge to speak about it with their customers. The enthusiasm we've seen after the trip from the agents who attended confirms we're on the right path as we expand our tours offering across more destinations worldwide”.
The itinerary balanced luxury accommodation at properties including Kempinski Muscat and Shangri-La Al Husn with cultural highlights such as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and authentic experiences such as dune bashing in the Wahiba Desert and starlit dining at a Desert Night Camp.
Agents also visited 12 distinctive properties during their stay including Chedi Muscat and the mountain retreat of Anantara Jabal Akhdar Resort, providing a unique insight into TUI's diverse accommodation portfolio in the region. The group was also joined by some of the TUI Tours contact centre team, who were available to answer first hand any questions from the independent agents about their experience.
Caroline Bailey from Designer Travel said: “I would like to say what a wonderful experience the TUI Wanderlust Experience in Oman has been. The experience taught me what a wonderful country Oman is, I was astonished by the cleanliness of the country and and the friendliness of its people. On top of this, the knowledge I have gained about products TUI offer that I never even knew is invaluable."
