The move marks the latest step in Premier Travel’s expansion into Kent and a promise to maintain continuity for customers following the closure the miniple's closure last year.
The Tenterden shop will be staffed by several familiar faces from the former Baldwins branch, with Premier managing director Paul Waters stressing preserving the existing team was a priority.
He shared similar sentiments with TTG last summer, explaining the "main reason" for pursuing a deal with Baldwins was to keep its staff in the industry. "We're delighted to be bringing Premier Travel to Tenterden and to welcome experienced team members who already have strong relationships within the community," Waters said.
The opening follows the launch of Premier Travel’s new Tonbridge branch on 26 February, another former Baldwins site, which was officially opened by the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Chris Brown.
The event was attended by local residents, supplier partners and members of the community, reflecting what Waters described as "continued support" for high street travel agencies. "It perfectly demonstrated how important these branches are, not just as places to book holidays, but as trusted hubs of travel expertise," he said.
Premier Travel, which was founded more than 90 years ago, now operates 32 branches across the south east and East Anglia.
Recent openings include Maidstone, Uckfield and Tonbridge, alongside existing franchise locations in Seaford, Bexhill and Reigate, as well as a managed service branch in East Grinsted operating as Hallmark Travel.
"With every new branch, we’re not just expanding our footprint," Waters said. "We’re investing in talented people, strengthening relationships with our industry partners and ensuring customers across the region can continue to access trusted travel advice locally."
