The operator has halted all Jamaica sales up to and including 23 November, but said: “We’re able to resume part of our programme to Jamaica from 24 November. Customers travelling up to and including 30 November will be notified of any impact to their booking.”
Tui is contacting all customers impacted by the situation, adding: “Our hearts go out to the people of Jamaica who are facing the aftermath of the worst storm in their history. During this incredibly difficult time our thoughts remain with them, and their loved ones.”
Meanwhile, the Jamaica Tourist Board has published a list of hotels and their status regarding reopening, while Sandals has given firm dates for its properties.
All hotels in the Kingston area remain open, but only six of 34 properties in Montego Bay, one of the most affected areas, are operating. Among these, some are due to reopen in the next few weeks, but others have dates stretching into mid-2026. One, Catalonia Montego Bay, is listed as “closed indefinitely”.
Sandals has set two reopening dates for its properties, saying it has done so “to offer a period of rest and recovery for the team members in Jamaica”.
Five resorts – Sandals Dunn’s River, Sandals Ocho Rios, Sandals Royal Plantation, Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril – will reopen on 6 December. Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals South Coast will take guests from 30 May 2026.
Meanwhile, one of the island’s most iconic properties, Round Hill Hotel & Villas, has given 8 December as a reopening date. The resort, part of The Set, sustained only minimal damage, but remains closed to allow staff to recuperate. Round Hill provided meals and aid to more than 500 people a day in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
It is offering 35% off stays for travel between 8 December 2025 and 21 December 2026 in a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. The Round Hill Employee Relief Fund will receive 5% of all proceeds.
MSC Cruises has also responded to the relief effort. It sent MSC Divina to Ocho Rios with 3,360 gallons of bottled water and 264 tarpaulins.
In addition, the MSC Foundation has committed to transporting 12 containers of relief supplies from the US and donated 14 containers to support local aid efforts.
Sandals too has extended its support for the people of Jamaica by diverting additional cash from its recent Island Challenge fundraiser towards supporting one of the island's main children's units, Bustamente.
