Agents working in both models would generate their own leads, do their own marketing and would work alongside its existing cohort of agents who convert accessible cabin sales leads into bookings.
Monk explained the “key difference” between the existing model and the two new ones would be the level of commission paid to the agents.
“When we give the agents the leads, it’s a smaller commission. If they're making their own leads, they get a higher commission,” he said.
Since March 2025, when My Kind of Cruise started recruiting homeworkers, its agents have generally worked outside traditional working hours while processing bookings for groups with accessibility requirements.
“It suits people who are making enquiries out of hours and at the weekends. We’re basically doing all the advertising, post-cruise and documentation. All the agent has to do is convert the leads,” he explained.
Monk said it’s not currently possible to make an accessible cabin booking via “most cruise lines’ APIs”.
Application Programming Interface (API) is the software which allows different applications to communicate, share data and use each other’s functionalities.
He added: “I cannot book 20 cabins on a sailing through most cruise lines’ APIs. It just doesn’t work like that at the moment. Not all the cruise lines support it at the moment.”
Monk hopes to grow the existing cohort of agents converting these group bookings to 100 by the end of 2025.
He explained that this push will take priority over the launch of the two new models.

However, he added: "It will be happening in the next couple of months. We want to get 100 homeworkers but in the meantime we will be looking at these newer models.
“We want to grow. We’ve been going for just over four years. The more we grow, the brand grows, so it’s just meeting that customer demand. Half our customers are new to cruise. The amount of people cruising every year is growing.”
On the two new models, Monk said: “We’re looking to launch two other models. One would be an influencer package, where they would use their leads but use our system to book them all. We would give them a white label site.
“The other would be non-lead supported where we would give them all the tools. They would be able to sell everything through their site. Just like the other model we will take care of all their customer service needs. There will be higher commissions because they will doing their own leads.”
Monk said a pair of cruise influencers who had already been recruited by My Kind of Cruise were often asked where to book a cruise holiday by their followers which had sparked the idea of creating a new homeworking model.
“We’ve got some people who are cruise influencers and have done the social media content themselves," he continued. "People will always ask them ‘where do I book a cruise?’ They would ask us ‘how many bookings have we made?’ It’s gone from there.
"They are basically two of our best sellers. They know everything about cruise, they’re primed to be our best seller and you can ask them anything. They’re encyclopaedias of cruise."
