The cruising giant is currently having conversations with staff to discuss "potential future opportunities within the wider business", Carnival Corp told TTG. A Carnival Corp spokesperson said details of the support agents will be given post-12 May would be confirmed "in due course".
The proposed closure will come into effect on 12 May.
The spokesperson added: "After careful consideration of our strategic objectives for the UK market, we have made the difficult decision to propose the closure of the ’Seavacations’ team in the UK and sunset this part of the organisation.
"We are currently having individual conversations with the Carnival Cruise Line team in the UK to discuss potential future opportunities within the wider business.
"Our priority is to provide the necessary support to minimise the impact for those affected."
The 2,124-passenger Carnival Miracle will operate nine departures from Dover between May and September this year.
It comes just after Carnival Cruise Line announced that its new ships launching from 2027 would allow it to "upgrade capacity and hardware in key markets" and place "a particular focus" on short cruises.
The line will launch its fourth and fifth Excel ships in 2027 and 2028 before introducing three 230,000 gross ton-ships, with more than 3,000 staterooms in 2029, 2031 and 2033.
